A softer salad with barley and cool dill, mint, and cucumber. Sweet raisins & perhaps a dab of honey mustard or a sliced radish for contrasting pungency. Discovered when reaching for a quick snack during the home birth of my first daughter, Aug 30th in Albuquerque.
Ayurveda Notes (help)
The addition of barley come close to making this salad tridoshic. However, raw salad greens are difficult to digest for vata type cold digestion or vishama agni, Slight blanching of the salad greens with honey and mustard would provide the missing heat.
Dosha: Vata+ Pitta- Kapha-
Quality: Cooling, Soft
Taste: Sweet, Pungent, Bitter, Astringent
