Smooth molasses with pungent cinnamon and smoked licorice black bean chili feels like a campfire in northern New Mexico under a new moon.
Ayurveda Notes (help)
Black beans are astringent like most legumes. The warming spices help stimulate secretions for digestion in the GI tract. Molasses, due to the liquid quality of sweet, directly counteracts astringency by promoting the mucous lining of the GI tract.
