Bitter enough to be illegal, melons never tasted so good - subdued when fried and mixed with sweet butternut, pungent chilies, and smokey tomatoes. Pinon nuts add that crunchy texture. Ouch!
Ayurveda Notes (help)
The combination makes them somewhat tridoshic but look out for guna. The bitters pacify the oily quality of pitta but jalapenos strike with heat. Tomatoes and bitter aggravate vata digestion, but sweet butternuts temper somewhat (relative quantities are dependent upon dosha). I'm going to vote pitta+! The intense bitter should cause some purgation.
Dosha: Vata- Pitta+ Kapha-
Quality: Sharp, Heating, Rough, Clear
Taste: Sweet, Pungent, Bitter
