Rest After Eating on the Left Side

Introduction to an Ayurvedic Diet | 10 Good Eating Habits | Rest After Eating on the Left Side

After eating, blood rushes to the stomach to supply stomach glands with fluids. The food is mixed with acids and slowly turns into a sauce. About fifteen minutes after eating, the food if fully hydrated and blood flow to the stomach relaxes somewhat. To ensure a proper supply of blood, rest at least fifteen minutes after eating. Lie on the left side to help food stay in the upper portion of the stomach. Avoid sleeping, studying, exercise and sex for two hours after eating.
