ayurvedic notes
Unripe bananas are highly astringent and cooling, causing constipation. Overripe bananas are sour and Pitta provoking, causing looser stools. Since bananas are heavy and harder to digest than most fruits, combining them with lime or ginger can make them lighter.

Leg cramps, often called "charlie horses" is a common sign of low electrolyte & potassium levels. Bananas help restore potassium levels. They replenish energy when we're depleted on a hot summer afternoon.

Banana peels have been used topically to help with liver spots, hemorrhoids, and itching. They are Pitta pacifying and anti-bacterial.

When you say "overripe" do you mean bananas that do so while hanging from a banana tree(and get the seeds and everything) or are you reffering to bananas that are allowed to age from green to yellow and then get black spots? I know the banana isn't technically ripening that way(latter choice) although he seems to but I guess I have a feeling that's what you actually mean...is it? Also what does "1c" stand for on this site in ml(milliliters)?
