Ysha was trained in 1992 in the Maharishi Ayurveda's Mother and Baby Care Technician program, and advanced study and guidance from Dr. Saraswati Buhrman, Clinical Ayurvedic Practioner, Dr. Sarita Shrestha, OBGyn/BAMS, Dr. Vasant Lad and others.

In 1995 Ysha co-developed the certification training in postpartum ayurvedic care with the support of the Rocky Mountain Institute of Yoga and Ayurveda in Colorado. Offering more in depth professional's training, it embraces a strong foundation in Ayurvedic principles, Ayurvedic herbology, Ayurvedic cooking and Ayurvedic Women's Health care. The 250 hour program including internship practicum has been taught in alternate years since then to small groups of students at a time.
