How Does This Ayurvedic Herb Supplement Improve Wellness?
CLINICAL AYURVEDIC REVIEW
Ayurvedic Roast is made with all organic ingredients, starting with fresh roasted barley, chicory root, and rye. On top of these healthy grains, we add our own unique herbal combination which has been used for centuries in the ancient tradition of Ayurveda: Ashwagandha, Shatavari, and Brahmi.
More information on each herb:
- Ashwagandha: Known as the the "ginseng of India", this incredible herb promotes strength and stability in the physiology, and is also an anti-oxidant. It builds immunity and strength, and calms the mind and body.
- Shatavari: Possesing many of the benefits of Ashwagandha, it counterbalances its somewhat heating quality with it cooling effect, and augments their mutually beneficial effects on the body.
- Brahmi: Commonly used in Ayurveda to lessen mental strain and worry*, it also helps increase intelligence and clarity*. In combination with the other 2 herbs, it has a soothing effect on the mind, while maintaining alertness.
The unique synergy of these three treasured organic herbs creates a soothing, uplifting, and strengthening effect on the mind, body, and spirit*. SUGGESTED USEFollow instructions on package or as directed by your practitioner.Biocharacteristics of Ayurvedic Roast Coffee Substitute (11 oz)

INCREASES
Increases These Biocharacteristics (Gunas)
Functional Ayurveda helps you assess imbalances through 20 main biocharacteristics
(gunas).
Aggravating these characteristics weakens your body and causes imbalance.
By knowing which characteristics are habitually imbalanced in your body, you will be able to identify and correct imbalances before you get sick.
Every characteristic has an opposite which balances it (i.e. hot balances cold).
You restore balance by favoring diet and lifestyle choices that increase the opposite characteristic.

The 6 Tastes
Taste is used to sense the most basic properties and effects of food.
Each taste has a specific medicinal effect on your body.
Cravings for food with certain tastes indicate your body is craving specific medicinal results from food.
Taste is experienced on the tongue and represents your body's reaction to foods.
Sweet taste causes physical satisfaction and attraction whereas bitter taste causes discomfort and aversion.
Kapha should use less sweet taste while Vata and Pitta would benefit from using more sweet taste.
One of the first signs of illness is that your taste and appetite for food changes.
The six tastes are sweet, sour, salty, pungent, bitter, and astringent.

LEARN MORE ABOUT BITTER | DOSHAS
The Three Doshas / Body Types
According to the biocharacteristic theory of medicine,
people tend to get sick, over and over again, due to habitual causes and imbalances that are unique to the person.
Your body type summarizes this tendency, showing you the 'type' of conditions and imbalances that frequently challenge your health & wellness.
Using body type, you can also identify remedies likely to improve your strength and resiliency.
Your body type identifies physical and mental characteristics as well as your personal strengths and weaknesses.
The calculation of your body type is based on your medical history.
The 3 functional body types
(doshas),
are Catabolic (Vata), Metabolic (Pitta), and Anabolic (Kapha).
Catabolic individuals tend to break down body mass into energy. They are easily stimulated, hyperactive, underweight and dry.
Metabolic individuals tend to burn or use energy. They tend to be rosy-cheeked, easily irritated, focused, driven, and easily inflamed.
Anabolic individuals tend to store energy as body mass. If they store too much energy, they could gain weight easily and have congestion. Anabolic people tend to be stable and grounded.

I have an espresso machine which I love, and make yummy latte's. Can I use the Ayurvedic Roast in the same way that I use my coffee? Is it finely ground?
Also, please let me know if you have tried this and what you think.
Thank you.

Yes, an espresso machine is a great way to make Ayurvedic Roast. It will be delicious. A french press or regular coffee maker also work great.
If you have an espresso machine, go all the way and steam your milk, pour into the shot of Ayurvedic Roast and start your morning!

This coffe came flavored as French Vanilla, very dissapointed! I thought it was just regular flavored, no flavor added. If I had known I wouldn't have ordered it

I love the taste, and also the combination of herbs. My only problem is that I can't get it strong enough. I use a regular coffee maker, and have used 6 heaping teaspoons for 12 oz. of liquid, and it still feels weak. I add a little decaf to pump it up. For the price, it seems like I'm getting very few servings. Perhaps if the grind was finer, it would be stronger in a regular coffee brewer.
Lenny, you may just like your coffee really strong! I think that mixing it with decaf is a great way to slowly adjust your tastebuds.

I loved the taste of this roast. It was warm and satisfying. I brewed it by doing a pour-over - puttin two tablespoons of the roast into a strainer cup that sits over my cup then poured 8 oz of hot water over it and let it drip into the cup. I then added some warmed almond milk and even a dab of ghee. However, after the second day drinking it I noticed two things: 1) I began to sweat in the afternoon and had some BO then 2) My husband told me that at night the bedroom would smell and we realized it was coming from me! Could this roast that says it balances all doshas have been too pitta or vata provoking for me?
I loved the taste of this after making it like a pour over style. I kept it small , about enough water to make an espresso or double espresso size serving and then added cardamom and almond milk. My one problem was after drinking two or three days my husband was telling me that at night while sleeping I had a strong Oder seemingly coming out my pores and process of elimination led me to tis drink. After stopping it, no Oder. I wonder if it was just reacting funny with my body make up - maybe it was too heating for me? Also, I do have gluten sensitivities - maybe it caused a problem there? Shame, I enjoyed it!
