preparation
Boil lentils for 45 minutes or until they begin to soften. Slice onions in thick wedges. Fry onions in 2 tbsp olive oil. Add garlic last thirty seconds. Fry rice in a pot in 2tbsp oil until it begins to brown. Strain lentils and add to rice. Add all remaining ingredients except parsley and walnuts. Add water and cook until rice is soft.

Garnish with parsley and walnuts. Serve alongside "Mint and dill yogurt sauce."
