Tight muscles

Written by John Immel, Asheville, NC
Tight muscles can be a sign of cold, poor circulation, toxicity, or tension.

Aggravated Doshas & Qualities

Symptoms Tell A Story

The first step to healing is learning patterns from your symptoms. Symptoms are clues that reveal underlying imbalances, showing you where your body is weak. Specifically, they reveal the doshas & qualities that may have become aggravated. If you notice a quality or dosha appears next to many of your symptoms, it helps you establish a pattern that may be systemic.

One or more of the following doshas and qualities may be aggravated. If you have a systemic imbalance of one of these doshas or qualities, Ayurveda would generally recommend avoiding foods and lifestyle habits with that quality.

I do sit around more as I'm caregiving my 86 yr old mother. I'm 66 and my energy, weight gain, toxicity levels have increased since doing my caregiving. My calves feel tight and I don't get any exercise at all. I was diagnosed in the 90's with fibromyalgia but I have not done anything to improve this condition. Therefore, I don't know if it's the fibromyalgia or circulation due to sitting? I'm on no medication whatsoever and prefer it that way. I haven't done a de-tox procedure in many years and don't know where to start?
