Reports based on thousands of real food experiences recorded by students and practitioners of Classical Metabolic Theory.
Have you ever wondered how peanuts affect your skin? Or, the effect of green tea on muscles? Is turmeric really as beneficial for everyone as it may seem? How does Kombucha affect your tongue coating?
Below you can explore aggregate statistics capturing the metabolic effects of foods and herbs in practice.
At Joyful Belly, a Carolina College of Natural Health Sciences, we are dedicated to answering questions just like these. We are the only U.S.-based college aggregating reports on the metabolic effects of foods using the classical metabolic framework of Ayurveda, Greek and Chinese medicine. Presented clearly, practically, and physiologically, this information provides valuable insight for practitioners, students, and anyone seeking to understand how diet influences the body..
Trying to make supportive personalized diet, lifestyle, and herbal changes for yourself and your family? Vague guidelines and standardized food lists can make classical medicine systems seem mysterious. Instead, our reports reveal observable metabolic patterns so you can understand how specific foods and herbs influence the body in practice.
Note: The reports shared below are part of an educational assignment completed by students at the Joyful Belly College of Ayurveda. These represent subjective experiences intended to help students explore principles of Classical Metabolic Theory through personal observation. In each report below, students ate the selected food for 3 days and self-reported these effects.
These exercises are not part of an FDA-regulated study, and were not designed or conducted under a clinical research protocol. They are neither investigational in nature nor scientific findings. They are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. They are experiential assignments rooted in traditional Ayurvedic, Greek and Chinese Medicine education, intended solely for instructional use. No conclusions should be drawn regarding the therapeutic effects of any food, herb, or dietary substance based on these student reflections.
