AYURVEDIC PERSPECTIVE ON CALCIUM

Calcium nourishes bones and muscles. A muscle cell is activated when calcium enters the cell. It relaxes when the calcium is secreted.

Calcium is antagonistic towards magnesium - biochemically they cancel each other out. When supplementing calcium and magnesium, take calcium during the day. Take magnesium at night before bedtime for better utilization and better sleep.

Sesame seeds, Kale, and dark leafy greens are rich in calcium. Calcium requires vitamin D, parathyroid hormone and healthy saturated fat in order to be utilized for strong bones, teeth and muscles.
