AYURVEDIC PERSPECTIVE ON LUNG-PHLEGM-COLD

Cold phlegm implies phlegm is thin and white or clear.

When the body fails to produce enough mucus, or fails to metabolize it, the mucus will stagnate, and then thicken or harden, turning into phlegm, a toxic substance. Instead of killing microbes as healthy mucus does, phlegm becomes a harbor to bacteria to proliferate and could trigger a lung infection.

Once the lungs become infected, this condition turns into lung-phlegm-heat.
