AYURVEDIC PERSPECTIVE ON IMPROVES-FOCUS

Reduces scattered thoughts. Creates a steady mind. Includes herbs that relax (for Vata) and herbs that stimulate (for Kapha).

This category can be broken down into several types:

  • Salty - Salty foods can reduce a scattered Vata mind while general electrolyte repleneshing improves energy.
  • Nourishing - Foods that nourish are grounding. They aid Vata but reduce focus for Kapha.
  • Sour - Sour foods are mildly stimulating yet grounding and so reduce scattering of thoughts.
  • Pungents - These stimulate a sluggish Kapha mind. Focused never stimulants generally improve circulation to the brain, stimulate the mind and lift mood, increasing awareness and alertness. Examples: Rosemary, Hyssop, Basil, Gotu Kola, Ginseng.
