Increases These Qualities (Gunas)

Ayurveda helps you assess how you feel through the 20 main therapeutic feelings or qualities called gunas. Through the gunas you can articulate, experience and develop sensitivity to the signals your body sends you. Imbalanced gunas are the root of your imbalances. Every guna has an opposite which balances is (i.e. hot balances cold). You create balance by favoring diet and lifestyle choices that increase the opposite guna.

TASTES
Digestive Effects Help

The 6 Tastes

Taste has meaning in Ayurveda, and brings physical and emotional changes to your body. Taste is experienced on the tongue and is your body's reaction to foods much in the same way that your emotions are mental reactions to experiences. Sweet taste causes physical satisfaction and attraction whereas bitter taste causes discomfort and aversion. Kapha should use less sweet taste while Vata and Pitta would benefit from using more sweet taste. One of the first signs of illness is that your taste and appetite for food changes. The six tastes are sweet, sour, salty, pungent, bitter, and astringent. Do you crave foods with any of the tastes below? Food and herbs with the following tastes could aggravate your symptoms.

DOSHAS
Digestive Effects Help

The Three Doshas / Body Types

Your body type shows how your strengths, as well as how your body typically goes out of balance. It also shows how your body responds to the environment. Your body type is comprised of certain qualities and affects every part of you - your physical and mental characteristics as well as your personal strengths and weaknesses. This is because your body type is based on how your body uses energy. Ayurveda has 3 body types (doshas), called Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. Vata spends energy. Pitta burns energy. Kapha stores energy. Vata people tend to be easily stimulated, hyperactive, underweight and dry. Pitta people tend to be hot, focused, driven, and easily inflamed. Kapha people are heavy, stable and grounded, but if they store too much energy, they could gain weight easily and have congestion.

I love the flavor and the aroma, it is spicy in a different way, than I am used to and that is good, I have to admit some times I like to just open the jar and enjoy the aroma. I was so frustrated with conventional treatment for heartburn that I was willing to do anything. I have been interested in Ayurveda for years and finally found Joseph. Now with my new modified diet I believe Weight Away has helped in eliminating my heartburn. and the 5lb I have lost was a nice surprise.

does this product help lose weight by balancing Kapha? Once one reaches the desired weight and stops taking the formula, does Kapha build up again? All allopathic weight loss products are like this.

- arti, Seattle, WA, 08-22-10 (Reply)
The product is working well after I got in the habit of using it 15 minutes prior to eating. I am ready to order another jar!

- Jean, Nathrop, CO, 09-19-12 (Reply)
First time in years that I have woken up morning after morning without a huge bloated belly. Digestion has never been better and u have started to enjoy te flavor that once was hard to bear ( bare?) because I was so toxic

- Kathryn Hunter, South lake tahoe, CA, 12-04-12 (Reply)
My question is I take prescription blood pressure medicine will this affect it in anyway?

- Paula, Aurora, CO, 01-04-13 (Reply)
The ingredients in Weight Away are designed to reduce water weight as well as boost fat metabolism. This should reduce blood pressure. However, it is important to check with your medical doctor before changing your herbs, diet or lifestyle. Thanks for asking!

The directions says eat directly from the jar or dissolve 1 tsp per 50 lbs of body weight. If you eat directly what is the amount?

- Lora Hurd, Ponca city, OK, 02-03-13 (Reply)
Dear Lora - The amount will be the same. Thanks for asking! -John

Good product. Thanks :)

- gerdulis, 02-12-13 (Reply)
Do you have a weight loss product for Vata? or is it ok for all doshas. it looks like its just for Kapha

- layna carlson, Issaquah, WA, 02-27-13 (Reply)
Even if you have a Vata constitution, weight gain is a Kapha problem. When Vata and Kapha are out balance, generally address Kapha with diet and Vata with lifestyle. Since Weight Away primarily targets the issue of diet, circulation, and congested blood - it can be used for Vata people with excess weight. Great question.

Do you eat it or can you mix it in hot water? If so how much? Thanks Edith

- Kat, Baltimore, MD, 03-22-13 (Reply)
Great question, great answer! Been searching the internet for this answer for 2 months!!!

- Rocky, 03-24-13 (Reply)
Dear Edith, You can eat it or mix it in water. The dosage is the same for both. -John

If I take 1tsp. for every 50lbs. of body weight I would take 5 tsp. Is that before each meal or daily? Your web site says 1tsp. before meals and but the manufacturer's instructions say 1 tsp. per 50lbs. I'm a bit confused. Thank you.

- Amy Jo Zelmer, Baroda, MI, 04-02-13 (Reply)
Dear Amy, We have a suggested a more conservative dosage than the manufacturer. There is no exact 'right' answer - but you can try both and see which feels better. Or, a consultation can help resolve this issue for you. Thanks for asking!

At 9.6 oz per container, how many 1 tsp servings are there?

- PerfectHealthTucson, Marana, AZ, 05-08-13 (Reply)
58 tsp

John, how long should a person consume Weight Away? Is there a protocol for spacing use/rest/use/rest? Thank you for ALL your assistance.

- PerfectHealthTucson, Marana, AZ, 05-09-13 (Reply)
Ayurveda recommends (for any herb, food, or lifestyle practice) a 3 months on, 1 month off schedule.

I love this product! Taking it mostly for my sugar, and I do not experience lows anymore. The taste has grown on me, and my husband has joined me. And I am definitely leaner without even trying to loose weight. I'll be ordering my 3rd jar or more soon. Great combination. Thank you. Maryse New Castle, DE

- Maryse, New castle, DE, 07-16-13 (Reply)
Please tell me the taste gets easier to take? I should be taking three teaspoons at a time and I could barely choke down one!

- Tricia Juliano, Wyckoff, NJ, 01-01-14 (Reply)
Mix with warm almond mile for a more tasty treat.

- Terri, Grass valley, CA, 01-19-15 (Reply)
Terry, Yes- you can use the herbs together. But take a half dose of amalaki as not to overdo it :)

Would this be safe to take when trying to become pregnant or during pregnancy? Thanks!

- Keven, Portland, OR, 05-24-15 (Reply)
Weight Away would probably be a little bit too harsh for pregnancy, so we would not advise it.

- sally, Minneapolis, MN, 05-28-15 (Reply)
It's hard to give general advice for specific situations without knowing all the details. Consider making an appointment for a one on one consultation with one of our practitioners. If that's not possible, you might purchase one of our Personal Body Books to get more perspective on what will be most supportive to your imbalances.
