Calming, muscle relaxing bath with epsom salts (magnesium)
A hot bath is the best way to dispel all cold in the body. To enhance the penetrating qualities of the bath, add thyme, or ginger and baking soda.
For example, a ginger rosemary hot water foot soak.
A hot shower can relax nerves, help expectorate mucus, and the steam can reduce irritation of the throat and lungs.
Inhaling steam may soothe irritated lungs and break up mucus. May include essential oils. Use a pot of boiling water, or purchase a commercial facial/sinus steamer.
A sitz bath may be used to help hemorrhoids and/or bleeding and tissue repair post partum. Typical herbs include comfrey, horsetail, witch hazel, and St. John's Wort.
