How to Make Barbecue Portobello Mushrooms

INGREDIENTS

PREPARATION OF THIS HEALTHY RECIPE

Notes

  • Smoked paprika recommended
  • Crushed tomatoes recommended
  • Red onion recommended
  • Optionally sautee with Crimini Mushrooms

1. Finely chop onion and garlic. Cook in ghee on a medium heat until translucent.

2. Add the spices, crushed tomatoes, apple cider vinegar and molasses and simmer for 10 minutes, until tomatoes are soft. Blend to a smooth consistency.

3. Coat portobello mushrooms in barbecue sauce and leave stand for 1 hour.

4. Grill on a medium to high heat for 5 minutes on each side. Cooking times may vary slightly depending on the size of mushroom.

John's hobbies & specialties include advanced digestive disorders, virtue psychology through classical & Christian philosophy, languages, cooking & botany. He holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Harvard University. John, his wife Natalie, and their 8 kids live in Asheville, NC.
