How to Make Refreshing Cabbage, Cilantro & Aloe Juice

PREPARATION OF THIS HEALTHY RECIPE
1. Juice cabbage and cilantro in a vegetable juicer. If you don't have a juicer, chop cabbage and cilantro, then puree in a blender with 1c water. Strain the water into a glass.
2. Add aloe vera to vegetable juice. Add 1/2 water if necessary. Stir.

Cabbage, cilantro, and aloe vera are strongly cooling. Aloe and cilantro cleanse the liver. Cilantro is an anti-histamine, meaning it directly calms the immune system. Bitter taste cleanses and refreshes the liver, improving its performance. Bitter taste also helps decongest the blood for improved lymphatic drainage.

I am willing to try almost anything for allergy heat and inflammation relief. This is not tasty... had to just shoot it diwn quick! How many times in one day should I drink this and for how long? I am predominantly kapha withsome pitta. Thank you! I am excited to see how this works for me.

What about Hypothyroid people who are advised to refrain fro raw cabbage and other cruciferous

Raw cabbage is not the best for hypothyroidism. Does the cabbage need to be raw in order to benefit from the drink? I wonder if lightly steaming it would be okay. Also, is there something else that could be substituted for the cabbage? Thanks!

Yes, raw cabbage juice is not recommended for hypothyroid due to the presence of goitrogens. Cucumber is a cooling vegetable that would be a good replacement in those cases. Great question!
