Olive skin is usually genetic, and tends to be more common in Vata type individuals. Sallow complexion is generally due to Pitta toxins in the liver. This can be commonly seen in cartoons when a character smokes too many cigars, or if a person has spent too much time looking at a computer screen.

If naturally olive complexion appears sallow due to Pitta toxins in the liver, cleanse the liver with guduchi or bhumyamalaki. If you spend all day in front of a screen, make sure to go outdoors and get some sunshine. Avoid consumption and exposure of anything toxic from cigars to alcohol to paint fumes. Support liver health and strength with livotonics such as licorice root and applesauce.

Affecting Blood: Initially, imbalances are localized, often in the digestive tract. As an imbalance grows, it starts to affect your body systemically, via the blood.
